Scheduled summit climbs, pioneered in Turkey by Erciyes Inc. under the leadership of the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, offer nature enthusiasts the chance to reach the 3,917-meter summit of Mount Erciyes every weekend. The first summit climb of 2025 was successfully completed this past weekend, with participants experiencing the pride of reaching the summit amidst breathtaking natural scenery.
This groundbreaking initiative, launched in 2016 by the Metropolitan Municipality, holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in Turkey. The climbs, carried out safely and in an organized manner with professional mountain guides, are held every weekend throughout the summer season.
As part of the event, participants gather at the Tekir Gate of the Erciyes Ski Center on Saturday. After taking the cable car to the Zümrüt Upper Station, they stay overnight at a mountain lodge located at an altitude of 2,900 meters. The hike begins during the night and ends at the summit with the sunrise. Participants not only enjoy the mesmerizing view of Erciyes but also immortalize the moment with photographs.
