Erciyes Ski Resort Opens the Season
Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the winter season at Erciyes Ski Resort will officially begin on December 18, 2025, with the first phase opening on Tekir Gate, Slope No. 13. Emphasizing that Erciyes is fully prepared for the new season with its world-class infrastructure, extensive slope network, and modern facilities, Büyükkılıç underlined that Kayseri continues to strengthen its claim in tourism year by year.
Highlighting that Erciyes is one of Turkey’s largest and most well-equipped ski resorts with a total of 112 kilometers of slopes, 19 mechanical lift facilities, and 41 different pistes, Büyükkılıç noted that the resort hosted approximately 3 million visitors last season. He added that Erciyes is not limited to winter tourism alone, but also makes significant contributions to Kayseri’s sports, tourism, economy, and promotion through its High Altitude Camp Center, international sports organizations, and year-round events.
Drawing attention to Erciyes’ international success, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “Erciyes is the only ski resort from Turkey included in the ‘World’s Best 25 Ski Resorts’ list. This is a source of great pride and the result of correct planning and a strong vision.”
Mayor Büyükkılıç also reminded that Erciyes Ski Resort, one of the flagship projects of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, has Turkey’s most advanced artificial snowmaking infrastructure. With 154 snowmaking machines operated by Erciyes Inc. and a production capacity of 9,000 cubic meters of snow per hour, the slopes can be prepared for skiing even in the absence of natural snowfall. Thanks to this system, the ski season at Erciyes can extend until late spring.
First Phase to Open at Tekir Gate, Slope No. 13
Stating, “Everything is ready at Erciyes. We invite all ski enthusiasts to Erciyes for the new season starting on December 18. In the first phase, Tekir Gate Slope No. 13 will welcome our guests, and other slopes will be opened as they become ready,” Mayor Büyükkılıç added that Kayseri’s rising brand value in tourism is crowned by Erciyes.
