Talas Emerges as a Rising Star in Regional Cultural Tourism
The Ottoman Culture Street, the “From Çanakkale to the Republic: 100th Anniversary Museum,” the Water Civilizations Gallery, and Tokana Restaurant—projects brought to life through the visionary efforts of Talas Municipality—received full marks from the guides. This gathering, which is expected to shape cultural tourism, further strengthened Talas’ position within the regional tourism network.
“TOUR GUIDES ARE THE STRONGEST STORYTELLERS OF OUR VALUES”
Kayseri Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Şükrü Dursun emphasized the significance of the program held in Talas, stating:
“We hosted approximately 90 tour guides in Talas. I would like to thank Talas Mayor Mr. Mustafa Yalçın for this wonderful hospitality. Everything has a meaning; sometimes this meaning is expressed through a cultural asset, sometimes through nature. Those who convey these values in the most accurate and powerful way are our tour guides. It is extremely valuable for us to introduce them to the values we possess.”
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TO SHARE CULTURE AND HISTORY”
Nevşehir Chamber of Tour Guides President Özay Onur stated that the cultural approach demonstrated in Talas is very valuable for the guiding profession, saying:
“I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially the Mayor of Talas. We will continue our efforts to explain the importance of culture, nature, and history and to present them to visitors in the most accurate way.”
“THIS VISION ADDS VALUE TO KAYSERI”
Kayseri Tourism Operators Association President Serdar Sarıçam also drew attention to the tourism vision of Talas Municipality and said:
“We toured the Nevşehir-based guides around Talas Ottoman Culture Street. I sincerely thank Mayor Mustafa Yalçın for the importance he places on tourism, culture, and cultural heritage. This approach makes a significant contribution to Kayseri tourism.”
“I GOT GOOSEBUMPS WHEN I SAW THE MUSEUMS IN TALAS”
Nevşehir Chamber of Tour Guides Audit Board Member Ali Murat Yıldız expressed his emotional connection to Talas with the following words:
“My birthplace is Ürgüp, but I feel like I belong here. Talas is a wonderful place. Kayseri’s historical sites, Mount Erciyes, cuisine, and cultural richness are truly impressive. Kayseri holds a very important position within the Niğde–Nevşehir–Cappadocia triangle. As tour guides, we are here to discuss how to create these routes. I received my guiding badge in Çanakkale. When I saw the ‘From Çanakkale to the Republic: 100th Anniversary Museum’ in Talas, I got goosebumps. This museum suits Kayseri perfectly. The Water Civilizations Gallery is also extremely valuable, and I believe it will attract great interest.”
TALAS, THE NEW MEETING POINT FOR TOUR GUIDES
With its projects that address culture, history, and tourism as a whole, Talas Municipality is preparing to reach wider audiences through professional tour guides. This gathering once again demonstrated that Talas is not only Kayseri’s but also the region’s rising star in cultural tourism.
